I love birds. How are they even possible? When I met Jason Jaacks at the 2024 Mountainfilm festival, he immediately started telling me about his new film about the beautiful and endangered Saltmarsh Sparrow. I knew before he had finished speaking that I would be editing the film. It’s about these wonderful little birds, and also a few excellent humans who are racing the clock to save them from a sad and all-too-familiar fate. Between Moon Tides premiered a year later at Mountainfilm, right where we first met. In September 2025 it was published by The Guardian, along with a great article by Jason.
